THE QUAKER DAY PARADE!
Haris' mom, Shamim Babar, became the first woman, first Muslim and first person of color to have the honor of leading Plainfield's Quaker Day Parade as Grand Marshall on Saturday, September 19th, 2015! The parade theme "Dare to Dream" could not be more fitting as it honored not only Babar and Haris' adventurous spirit, but also the dreamers in our town. Thank you to all of our family and friends that came out to support Shamim! Check out the pictures from the event!.
THE HARIS SULEMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLORSHIP AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS!
The scholarship will be awarded to students who exemplify characteristics that Haris embodied. Although Haris was smart and athletic, what he was most known for was his kind soul and passion for helping others. This scholarship is not awarded solely on academic merit, athletic prowess or involvement in extra-curricular activities. Those are commendable qualities, of course, but that is not all this world needs. The world needs dreamers and adventurers.
