With over 80% of their trip completed, the pilots were ready to be home. They had flown over mountains, landed in a sandstorm, seen ocean sunrises and sunsets, and made a lifetime of memories together. But on the evening of July 23, 2014, their journey came to a tragic end. For reasons unknown, their single-engine plane crashed within minutes of take-off from the airport in Pago Pago, American Samoa. Haris' body was found within hours, but Babar's body still remains missing.
Though Babar and Haris' journey came to an end, their cause and their legacy lives on through the lives they touched throughout their lives and the people they inspired on their journey.
